What this tool does
The audio converter runs FFmpeg WASM in the browser. You can upload multiple files, choose one output format, and download MP3, WAV, OGG, WebM, M4A, or FLAC without sending audio to a server.
How to use it
- Add one or more audio files.
- Choose the output format: MP3, WAV, OGG, WebM, M4A, or FLAC.
- Set bitrate for compressed formats.
- Start conversion and download one file or a ZIP archive.
Formats and bitrate
The converter helps prepare audio for editing, publishing, or sending. MP3 works almost everywhere, WAV and FLAC are better for archiving and further editing, OGG and WebM are common on the web, and M4A is well supported on phones and in the Apple ecosystem.
For compressed formats, bitrate controls the balance between quality and size. Speech, lectures, and voice messages often work well at 96-128 kbps. Music and podcasts with jingles usually need 192 kbps or higher. WAV and FLAC do not use bitrate the same way; choose them when preserving quality matters more than making the file small.
FFmpeg WASM, privacy, and batches
Conversion runs in the browser through FFmpeg WASM: files are not uploaded to the All Tools server. You can add multiple audio files, choose one output format, and download a single file or a ZIP archive when there are several results.
Conversion uses CPU and memory, especially with long WAV/FLAC files and large batches. Keep the tab open until the job is done; on a weaker phone, convert files one by one or use shorter recordings.
