How the formula calculator works

The tool converts weight into an approximate daily formula range and splits it across a typical number of feeds for the baby’s age. It is useful for quick checks, bottle planning and keeping the day easier to organize.

How to use it

  1. Enter weight in kilograms or pounds.
  2. Add the baby’s age in months and calculate.
  3. Use the daily range and per-feed estimate as a practical reference.

Estimation method

The calculator uses baby age and weight to estimate a daily formula range and an approximate amount per feed. It then spreads the volume across a typical number of feeds for that age, making bottle planning easier.

This is not a feeding prescription. Real needs depend on weight gain, appetite, solids, formula label instructions, health, and the pediatrician’s plan.

Using it safely

Use the result as a starting point and observe the baby: wet diapers, weight gain, satiety, spit-up, and comfort matter more than an exact number. Do not force a baby to finish a bottle only because the calculator shows that amount.

This is not medical advice. For premature babies, weight concerns, reflux, allergies, illness, feeding refusal, or any doubt, contact a pediatrician.

Always prepare formula according to the manufacturer’s instructions: correct water-to-powder ratio, temperature, clean bottles, and storage time matter more than any calculator number.

Daily intake usually matters more than one individual bottle. Appetite can vary during the day: a baby may drink less once and more later, and that is not always a problem.
