Camera and image scanning
The scanner can read a QR code through a phone or laptop camera, or from an uploaded image. Camera scanning requires browser permission; then place the whole code in the frame with enough light and focus.
Image mode is useful when a QR code arrives in a screenshot, a PDF export, a packaging photo, or a design mockup. The browser processes the image locally and shows the decoded text, link, Wi‑Fi string, or contact data when that format is present.
Privacy and permissions
Camera video and selected images are not sent to All Tools servers. Recognition runs in the browser, and camera access is controlled by your device and tab permissions.
Treat a scanned result as untrusted text or an untrusted link. Do not enter passwords on pages that opened unexpectedly, and check the domain before signing in, paying, or downloading anything.
Scanning quality
Reliable scanning depends on focus, light, contrast, and the quiet zone around the code. If recognition fails, move the device farther away, clean the lens, increase screen brightness, or upload the image directly.
Damaged, tiny, heavily styled, or low-contrast QR codes can be unstable. For print, packaging, or public signs, test the final code with several cameras before producing a batch.
