Why wake windows help

A wake window helps you notice when a baby is ready for sleep before overtiredness builds up. The calculator gives an age-based range and a clock estimate when wake-up time is provided.

How to use it

  1. Enter age in months or weeks.
  2. Add wake-up time as 1130 or 11:30 if needed.
  3. Use the wake range and next nap estimate as a soft guide.

Wake-window method

The calculator uses the baby’s age to choose a typical wake-window range for that age. If you add wake-up time, it converts the range into an approximate next-sleep interval.

The ranges come from general age guidelines, but babies vary a lot. Short nights, illness, new skills, travel, and temperament can shift the window earlier or later.

The younger the baby, the faster wake windows can change from week to week. After illness, travel, or a new skill, observe for a few days again instead of holding tightly to the old routine.

Using it gently

Read the result together with tired cues: yawning, looking away, losing interest, crying, or becoming wired. A wake window helps you notice timing, but it should not become a strict timer.
